CAROL
Director/Salon Owner
Carol’s career began during the 1980's in Winchester, Hampshire, and she ran her first salon 20 years ago for a large salon group .
Throughout the 90's Carol worked for Redken NYC as an Educator, travelling all over the country imparting knowledge to the very best hairdressers within the industry.
Carol's career progressed to further education - teaching, assessing and mentoring future professionals, a role she continues within the salon to ensure the assistants are trained to the highest possible standard.
Throughout the years, Carol has constantly updated and improved her own skills whilst working with some of the country’s leading professionals.
Carol opened Serenity Hair in order to offer the public the highest standards of hairdressing in a luxury setting, bringing a city experience to Rustington.
Darcey started her hair journey in 2006, when she was just 14 as a Saturday girl in the same salon where Serenity hair is now although it was a different name and owner. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Darcey was part of a test at her school, to see if sending teenagers to college one day a week for vocational courses would work. She attended college every Thursday and was able to complete her NVQ level 1 in Hairdressing & Beauty before she was 16. Once Darcey left school she then started her apprenticeship and qualified as a Hairdresser in June 2010.⠀⠀
When the previous salon closed in 2011, Darcey went to work in Worthing before joining Serenity hair in 2013.
Darcey has been on many training courses to keep up with current trends and styles as well as Balmain Hair Additions training.
Darcey has worked her way up from senior stylist to principal stylist to Salon manager.

Sophie started her career in hairdressing at Serenity in July 2015 as an apprentice after she’d left school at 15. She had previously worked at Serenity for her work experience for one week when she was still in school and did some hours on the weekend as a Saturday girl before starting full time.
She started to attend college in February 2016 one day a week to study a Level 2 NVQ in Hairdressing, a year and a half later she completed her course and became a qualified hairdresser.
Sophie is Darcey's mini me, and is following in her footsteps.
She is also one half of the social media team along with Darcey, they like to use the private room as their ‘office’ as it keeps them productive. They love to keep everyone up to date with what’s happening in the salon and sharing our creations as it’s what we love doing most.
Sophie was promoted to Senior Stylist in Feb 2022.

Tara started at Serenity in June 2022, She had just completed her advanced level 3 qualification before joining Serenity. She has experience working in another salon for a number of years.
Tara has great knowledge and passion for hair up as well as colouring and cutting.
Tara is growing a busy client base varying in all aspects of hairdressing including hair extensions which we now offer in the salon. We use the best quality double drawn nano hair extensions, which with the correct aftercare & maintenance can last you up to 12 - 18 months.

Salon Assistant
Lottie started at Serenity in March 2018, she started as an apprentice however once she got further into her apprenticeship and started training on clients she realised hairdressing wasn’t for her. She loved everything else about the salon like keeping it nice and tidy and organised as well as looking after and talking to the clients, so we kept her on as our assistant instead.
Lottie is our very own little whirl wind and we wouldn’t know what we would do without her. You’ll usually see her running up and down the salon (that girl doesn’t stop!) even if you don’t see her you’ll hear her squeaky trainers.
Lottie is always one step ahead of us and knows what we all need before we even ask for it.
